Stephen Sui-lung LAM, OBE, GBM, GBS (WYHK ’73)

Stephen Lam served in the Hong Kong Government for 34 years and was Chief Secretary for Administration in 2011-12. Prior to this, he was Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs and covered this portfolio for almost ten years.

Following his retirement in 2012, Mr. Lam went to study theology at University of Oxford. In 2013, he graduated with a Certificate in Theological and Pastoral Studies. Currently, he speaks regularly at churches, schools and other institutions in Hong Kong and overseas. Since 2014, he has been appointed as Adjunct Speaker (Asia Pacific Region) by the Ravi Zacharias International Ministries.

In 2013, Mr. Lam also qualified as an Accredited Mediator of the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) in England. Currently, he undertakes the mediation of civil disputes in Hong Kong.

Mr. Lam studied at Wah Yan Hong Kong from 1968 to 1975. He graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1978 as Bachelor of Social Sciences. In 1983, he was awarded Bachelor of Laws by the University of London. In 1986, he qualified as Barrister-at-Law in Gray’s Inn, England.
